Issue 78 | 2026/27
Welcome to a new MIX Magazine where, for the first time, we’re bringing you all four design directions simultaneously. All the better for you to get a steer on the overarching themes as well as a complete view of the colour palettes for 2026/27.
Initially, it feels as though the stories are coming from very different starting points. However, all are in one way or another a reaction to the effects of climate change.
JOY looks to denying defeatism and rising to the multiple challenges we face in the future with optimism, while HOLD offers perhaps a more radical alternative, deceleration and a focus on quality and longevity.
There are also two stories where the emotional rather than practical responses to this most existential of threats are explored. Fear of the unknown and subsequent lack of control is acknowledged and accepted in DARK. While a decadent, provocative hedonism informs TASTE.
