Colour Hive at Surface Design Show 2020

Colour Hive's Materials Edit

Colour Hive returns to Surface Design Show to present Materials Edit, part of Surface Spotlight Live with a dedicated showcase of innovative and inspirational objects and materials.

SS 2021 Factory: Practice and Process

This year’s Materials Edit is inspired by the drivers behind our SS 2021 design story Factory.

'Recognising that process is an important part of design, but one that is all too often forgotten when work is predominantly focused on screen, Factory notes a return to the back to basic principles of the Bauhaus movement. When form follows function, we are reminded of the vital connection between theory and practice.'

Ideas explored in Factory: MIX 56 SS 2021 part one.

Factory inspired

With this in mind, our selection of one-of-a-kind materials and objects features the best in new approaches to surface design, process and manufacturing.
