Presentation and Trend Panel Debate
This year we have teamed up with Brintons to showcase a new installation created by Birmingham City University to highlight some of the creative work from this year’s Trends Project, our successful and ongoing programme with students at BCU. We will also be hosting a lunchtime talk and discussion on 24 May at 12pm, to reveal just how The Trend Project works and how we encourage students to engage with industry. “This is part of our long term relationship with BCU, helping young designers to work with a creative brief using our trend stories,” says Carolina Calzada-Oliveira, Publisher of MIX Magazine. Speakers include Jean Ensell and John Hall of BCU and Amy Sellers, a recent BCU Graduate, who contributed to the Trends Project and who now works at Future Lab. This talk will be followed by a panel debate with questions from the audience, facilitated by Kathryn Burns of BCU. The talk is free and there will be a chance to win a year’s subscription to MIX Magazine published by colour, trends and materials forecast agency, Colour Hive.
MIX Magazine’s Trends Project installation is on show throughout Clerkenwell Design Week (24-26 May) and is located at Brintons London Design Centre, 1, Sycamore Street, Clerkenwell.
