Liza Stolz Design: MoWo
Spotted at the Masters furniture course final show at Central Saint Martins in London, it was hard not to be impressed with Lisa Stolz’s clever exploration of new sitting experiences. MoWo (move with wood) may look solid but it is actually highly flexible, with the plywood seat supporting the user’s natural balance.
The collection currently consists of a family of stools for every day use and Aera, a woven structure that adapts to individual body shapes by allowing smaller deformations within its volume. We also love the playful stitching that gives the collection a pleasing, artisanal feel.
If you would like to see Stolz’s work, she will be exhibiting at this year’s Biënnale Interieur, Kortrijk in Belgium, from 18-22 October. Look out too for our review of the show in the last issue of the year.
