Our SS17 trend Ground takes inspiration from the abstract beauty of desert-like landscapes, playing on the warmth and richness of these often elemental colours. Lifting the entire Ground palette is this sand yellow, avoiding any hint of green and favouring a more orange tint. While this colour works well as an accent note, it also delivers as a colour block, with minimalist lines transformed into something with impressive visual impact, as can be seen here with Hay’s Mags sofa. This colour is surprisingly versatile when teamed with other tones; it looks great as a background for stone and navy and as a foil for biophilic greens. More than anything though, this is a bold and adventurous colour with intense levels of saturation. This yellow has already been taken up by designers at the early shows, and we expect to see more of it throughout 2017.
