Colour in Context
This lovely deep rose, from MIX Magazine’s trend Grace (Autumn Winter 2017/18), is both soft and sensual, reflecting the natural environment, especially heather on the mountains. The rose brings a hint of warmth to the cooler colours in the palette and works particularly well with navy, as seen here with this beaded clay pendant light from Atelier Lane, but also with natural wood, as with SPO1’s Smith table, complete with acid etched glass with rose coloured back finish.
The rose also works well with earth brown and even, perhaps more unexpectedly, ochre. The colour can have a slightly decadent edge, effectively interpreted in velvet, as with iDecorate’s collection. All in all, this is a colour that has plenty of potential, not just in soft but in hard surfaces too.
