The versatility of Rich Claret
The essence of our quiet, considered trend Ma (Spring Summer 2018) can be summed up with this velvety dark Rich Claret. This highly versatile shade looks superb in sleek metal powder coated Chess cabinets, designed by Constantin Grcic for Magis.
Here, the claret also acts as a powerful contrast to the pale oak handles. Claret works well for carpets too, as seen at Molteni &C, a perfect foil for a table by Gio Ponti. And finally Tacchini’s Split table, designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune, also makes the most of the power of powder coated metal to deliver effortless depth of colour.
Moving forward, we see Rich Claret shifting towards a more grape-like colour into early 2019, then after a brief hiatus, returning towards the end of the year. However, we see its popularity dropping off in 2020, replaced by purer, purple shades.
