A bold Primary Blue proved a core colour for our AW2018/19 trend Control, balancing the more attention-grabbing shades of Fuchsia, Sunshine Yellow and Emerald. Of course, blue always has a head start in the popularity stakes as time and again it is chosen as the World’s favourite colour.
So it’s a given that Primary Blues are commercial. What’s interesting here is how much punch the colour can pack; it dominated Molo’s stand at this year’s Orgatec, breathing vitality into the company’s new flexible space solution, designed by designed by Stephanie Forsythe + Todd MacAllen. Blue also brought interest to accessories, as with John Lewis’s Cut Encased Tumbler, part of the department store chain’s AW18 Home collection.
And the colour demanded attention at Oliver Bonas with these Aadiv Sequin Petal Chain Earrings. In terms of versatility, its easy to see why blue is always a perennial winner.
