Cadmium brown proved to be a highly successful (and ever so slightly retro) shade for upholstery, as spotted at Moooi. The slightly teddy bear quality of this colour also translated well into fashion, as seen on the high street with this coat from Tesco’s fashion brand F&F.
It’s a natural fit with leather; take a look at Fritz Hansen’s recent update of classic design The Pot™, designed by Arne Jacobsen. All in all, this particular take on brown, warm and veering close to orange, has proved to be a strong story for this Autumn Winter.
Moving forward into 2019 we see deeper shades more akin to wood and mink take precedence. However by the start of 2020, we predict that similar tones will return, this time with a slightly pink cast; think cinnamon rather than cadmium.
